Hello,

My name is Tiarra Currie and I am a clinical psychology doctoral student at Adelphi University Derner School of Psychology. I am

I am conducting research, as a graduation requirement, that will be looking at how Black adults (18 years or older) enrolled on a college campus think and feel about their racial identity and the cultural climate on the campus. Additionally, people will be asked about their psychological functioning, level of college adjustment, and personality characteristics.

I am recruiting people who identify as black and attend a predominately white institution. The purpose of this study is to provide awareness of the relationship between the experiences Black students endure on college campus and their thoughts and feelings of their racial identity. Additionally, the information gathered can inform how those experiences impact their mental health and adjustment to higher education settings, with implications for the design of culturally sensitive services for black college students.

The requirements are that volunteers be at least 18 years of age, currently be enrolled in college at a predominately white institution, and self-identify as Black. All information provided will be confidential.
