Tim Nielsen

I spent 6 years as a 1st Grade Teacher as well as providing many professional development opportunities in my building and district helping to support the new and changing technology landscape of our district. It was my focus to support and push others forward through the use of proper integration techniques. While my main goal was to educate young minds I chose to leave my position in the classroom as I saw a true need to further support educators as they tried to effectively integrate new technologies into their classrooms as well as empowering students to use these tools to enhance their own learning experiences.

I began working as an Educational Technology Consultant in the summer of 2011 working during the summers to support rich professional development opportunities. In 2013 I left my district and classroom to work and support more directly with IEC. I worked to support professional development on a wide variety of topics including iPads to enhance student learning, Google Apps for Education (GAFE), Makerspaces, and much more. I am a certified Google Power Searcher and enjoy sharing best practices for classroom use to empower staff and students furthering their learning in fun, unique, and enriching ways. My hope was to help bring back the JOY and FUN in educational learning for both students and teachers.

I am now back in the classroom supporting student learning, while also supporting area districts needs through technology integration support. We are all learners so I will gladly be the student to fulfill and better myself as well as support all ages to learn and grow together.
