I have a diverse business and outside sales background, and have represented many product lines and services since 1996. My tough as nails determination was developed knocking on doors in Australia for an encyclopedia company, and more recently prospecting in the very competitive photocopier business.

I have always prided myself in taking over under performing territories when the opportunity presented itself, and turning them around with results that had never been seen before by several organizations.

I was still very nervous presenting to groups following university, as I continued to battle a stuttering issue. During my time at Simmons Canada, I worked diligently on these skills, learned to manage my speech, and now there is nothing I would rather do than speak to groups of people.

I enrolled in Toastmasters in 2011 to assist in taking my presentation and leadership skills to the next level. I received my Competent Communicator designation the following spring.

In 2010, I decided that it was time to dig deeper in to the world of outside sales, and started to really study the profession. I have connected with many great people via social media sites, websites and blogs. I love to participate in LinkedIn discussion groups, post questions and provide feedback where I can!

I enhance my level of knowledge by reading books, listening to audio books and podcasts. It has given me new perspective on the profession, and I am certainly learning something new each day.

I have become incredibly passionate about networking via social media, and understanding what it takes to develop long-lasting connections.

I started blogging about sales and leadership in 2012, and it has developed in to so much more than that over the years. I am now fascinated by personal branding, the strategies behind maintaining a memorable social media “existence”, and what it takes to succeed as an entrepreneur with all the cool technology available today.

I started a part time business this spring, helping entrepreneurs with their personal brands, social media strategy and general online presence. The tools are there for anyone to promote themselves online, and I am so excited to help them get up and running, or taking existing brands to the next level!
