Timothy Bassett

Most recently operating in the field of loss prevention, Timothy J. Bassett has also spent a portion of his career serving in the United States Marine Corps as a Helicopter Mechanic. Over the course of his four years in the position, he ensured that all helicopters were safe for flight. Though primarily stationed in New River, North Carolina, he traveled all over the world, visiting the United Arab Emirates, Spain, Greece, and Saudi Arabia. During this tour, Timothy J. Bassett earned promotion to Corporal and spent time on Highway 80, colloquially known as the Highway of Death, which refers to the six-lane highway that runs between Iraq and Kuwait. Corporal Bassett earned numerous ribbons for his time in the Gulf.

After leaving the Marine Corps, Timothy J. Bassett became a Corrections Officer with the New York State Department of Corrections in Marcy. In this role, he took on responsibility for the care, custody, and control of the state inmates. He left the Department of Corrections in order to pursue employment as a State Trooper with the Glen Falls police force, where he was primarily responsible for traffic enforcement and public safety. His position included overseeing traffic flow and responding to citizen complaints. Timothy J. Bassett transitioned into the Loss Prevention department at the Sears Department Store in New Hartford, where he was tasked with the responsibility of preventing and eliminating theft of company assets. To fulfill this directive, Bassett monitored employees and apprehended shoplifters.

Timothy J. Bassett possesses a private pilot's license from Beaver County Community College. He is an advocate of community service and supports The Salvation Army. In his free time, he enjoys snowmobiling, boating, and camping. He is also a fan of NASCAR and the Buffalo Bills football team.
