I have been teaching high school aged social studies for 26 years (17 overseas). My wife, Gretchen, and I have worked at the Walworth Barbour American International School in Even Yehuda, Israel, Ruamrudee International School in Bangkok, Thailand, and at Saint Andrew's School in Boca Raton, FL. Currently, I am teaching IB Psychology and Theory of Knowledge at the East campus of United World College in Singapore. I have experience as a classroom teacher, head of department, three years as the K-12 Director of Educational Technology, and six years as IB Diploma Coordinator.

I hold Master’s Degrees in Humanities and Educational Leadership as well as a Certificate of Educational Technology and Information Literacy from Buffalo State University. I am an Apple Distinguished Educator with certification in Google Apps for Education. I have conducted workshops in social media, digital citizenship, assessment, NOW Literacies, and e-portfolios.

My expertise is the hidden curriculum which explores the social and emotional role of schools in shaping the next generation of leaders. My vision for learning emphasizes collaboration and creativity that extends understanding beyond the classroom. I am a huge proponent of transformational practices that promote critical literacies, reflecting upon the promise and challenge of meeting the needs of all students in every corner of the Earth.

My wife Gretchen is the Middle School Principal at United World College East Campus in Singapore. We spend our summers at our home in Sodus Point, NY.
