Tishani Doshi

is the author of two books of poetry -- Countries of the Body, and Everything Begins Elsewhere. Her novel, The Pleasure Seekers (Bloomsbury), has been translated into six languages. She has also a written a novella, Fountainville (Seren), retelling a medieval Welsh myth. And her latest book is The Adulterous Citizen: poems, essays and stories (House of Nehesi).

Since 2001 she has worked as the lead dancer in the Chandralekha Group in Madras, India.

She works as a freelance journalist for publications such as the Hindu, the Guardian, the International Herald Tribune, and the Corriere della Sera.

She divides her time by a village by the sea in Tamil Nadu, and elsewhere.
