Dr. Tarek Kapiel is Emeritus Professor of Plant Biotechnology, Biotechnology Department, Faculty of Science, Cairo University, Egypt.

Dr. Kapiel was working as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Science and Arts in Baljurashy, Al-Baha University, Al-Baha, KSA for 10 years (2010-2020).

He also was working as Supervisor of Technological Development and Scientific Services Sector and Advisor to the President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, Ministry of Higher Education and State for Scientific Research in Egypt. He was representing the Academy of Scientific Research and Ministry of Higher Education in many International forums, such as the Jordanian-Egyptian joint Synchrotron, and the granting of the European Union and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

Dr. Kapiel was working as Visiting Scientist at the Faculty of Life Sciences and Forestry, Department of Horticulture, Clemson University, South Carolina and then later worked as a Visiting Professor at the same institution. He was working also as Scientific Advisor and Mentor at Governor School of Science and Mathematics, South Carolina, U.S. He also served as a consultant of Southern Sun Microsystems Research Company.

He is working also as a Freelancer Scientific writer, independent Science Journalist, and Translator; He has more than 300 articles covering all scientific topics such as Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, Science Education, Genetic Engineering and much more. He is the founder of many websites and internet groups aiming to enrichment and dissemination of scientific culture. He is a Graphic Designer, Illustrator and Photographer.

Furthermore, Dr. Tarek Kapiel founded the domain Arabic "Wikipedia" and participated in many scientific conferences and public lectures radio and television interviews, and art exhibitions in Egypt and abroad. He won many awards and certificates of appreciation from Arab and foreign institutions.
