Toby Anderson

Dr. Toby Anderson came to the state of Tennessee in 1992 to study biology at Lee University. While working towards his Bachelor of Science, Dr. Toby Anderson minored in Spanish and biblical studies. After graduating with the F.J. Lee Award as the Most Outstanding Graduating Senior, he enrolled in the College of Medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Dr. Toby Anderson was a standout student, taking part in an accelerated residency program in the school’s Department of Family Medicine at St. Francis-Memphis Hospital. In his final year in the program, Dr. Toby Anderson served as the Chief Resident, earned the Resident Teacher Award, and was named the Most Outstanding Graduating Resident. While completing his residency, he contributed to two other medical facilities. Dr. Toby Anderson utilized his fluent Spanish skills to assist at Medicos Para La Familia, and lectured at the university on the use of medical Spanish. He also operated at SMC Regional Medical Center, formerly known as Baptist Memorial, where he still works part-time. Board certified in family medicine since 2004, Dr. Toby Anderson is currently on the staff of four different medical facilities in Tennessee and Arkansas. Dr. Toby Anderson is also adept at cardiac, neonatal, and pediatric treatments, as well as trauma life support. He operates full-time as the Chief of the Emergency Department at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center in Tennessee, visiting with more than 20,000 patients at the facility each year. Dr. Toby Anderson’s diligence in overseeing the emergency room has earned him the Community Cares: Excellence in Patient Care Award for three straight years. With his expertise in crisis situations, he contributes to the emergency rooms at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Lauderdale in Ripley, Tennessee, and Forrest City Medical Center in Arkansas. Dr. Toby Anderson is also on the staffs at Methodist Fayette Hospital and SMC Regional Medical Center. As an active member of the medical community, Dr. Toby Anderson belongs to the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and other professional organizations. He contributes to a host of religious charities, including Assemblies of God World Missions, Assemblies of God Bible Alliance, Voice of the Martyrs, and Samaritan’s Purse. Dr. Toby Anderson is a veteran of the United States Army and supports several associated groups, such as AMVETS, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the United Service Organization
