Tom Donaldson

I am an investor in people: listening and learning, creating a safe place for people to explore, dream, and take action. I love coaching people who want to connect head and heart, synchronize personal values with bold goals, and truly make a difference in life and in work.

Too often, aspiring leaders are confined to a cookie-cutter approach, a one-size-fits-all, that bulldozes right over personal traits and deeply-held values. Organizations move at a fast pace, often missing out on the deeper impact that comes from the diversity of styles, skills, and emotional intelligence in the individuals and teams that power the organization. I advocate for self-awareness, team transparency, and a style of leadership that brings out the best in each person. I do this through individual coaching, team facilitation, and content publishing that deals with the challenging questions and issues that may be overlooked elsewhere.

The thing that energizes me personally and gets noticed by others is the ability to listen without judgment, ask questions that either support or challenge thought and action, and ultimately help that person or team find a path to success and significance. Over the years, I have led this experience in a variety of settings--from the university campus, to church groups, to corporate teams.

Two relatively unrelated interests that bring me enjoyment are music of nearly any kind (with a bent toward the classical) and a fascination with collector cars of the last half of the 20th century. Go figure…
