I like helping people be happier. To that end, I run New Work City, where a community of people gather to pursue healthy independent careers. I document my journey on a blog called Happy Monster.
I helped to start Girl Develop It, which offers low-cost classes geared towards women who want to develop their tech skills. In 2007 I started the Coworking Community NYC Meetup, which has seen over 1,500 members and over 75 events. I was lead organizer of BarCampNYC3 and helped organize several others. I also helped start one of the first TEDx programs in NYC. This one time, I somehow ended up on the cover of Inc. Magazine. I'm also the guy behind such stunts as Color.xxx and NYC's first real-life Turntable.fm dance party.
I'm doing my part to change the world for the better.
