Originally from Ireland, I have lived in Paris for over 25 years. By happy accident I became a cookbook author in 1999 and since then over a million of my books have been sold worldwide.

Many of my books, 12 in French & 2 for Kyle Cathie in the UK, have been translated into several languages and won awards. My cooking programmes were broadcast by RTE, Good Food Channel & throughout the BBC Lifestyle network.

In 2010 I was named one of French Vogue's 40 women of the decade.

I write sweet recipes for French ELLE and contribute to The Irish Times Magazine food pages. My latest book in French, with photos by Deirdre Rooney , 'Grande Table, Petite Cuisine', won Best in World in the easy recipes category at the 2013 Gourmand Awards.

It celebrates 'le bel ordinaire'- the beauty of everyday, imperfect things & takes a realistic approach, aimed at helping people gather friends & family around their tables a little more easily - even when means, skills and space are lacking.

'Gourmande. Carnet Parisien', about my 25 years of loving food in Paris and part of a collection started by Ines de la Fressange's 'La Parisienne'. (Flammarion) will be published in France, US & UK in autumn 2013. The English language version's title is "The Paris Gourmet."
