I'm a best-selling author, long-time technologist, blogger, and freelance writer. I started blogging on a whim in 2004 and quickly became both a professional blogger—Canada's first professional blogger, in fact— and a leading expert in business blogging. I have been a part of several Web 2.0 startups large and small including blogging software, video production, secure email, community management, as well as number social media agencies. In addition to giving workshops and speaking at conferences, I also teach at UBC and elsewhere and have published three social media books: Create Your Own Blog (2009), Using WordPress (2010) and Sams Teach Yourself Foursquare in 10 Minutes (2011).
