Troy Johnson has made a significant transformation from "hip-hop", to "hot talk", and from the "blogosphere", to broadcast news, with nearly 25 years of broadcast experience.
He and his radio partner Marc Clarke produced a cutting edge live video stream and blog on the Baltimore Sun website, BaltimoreSun.com. He served as Executive Director of People 75, Baltimore's public access television station, building awareness, and creating partnerships that benefited public access television in Baltimore. Troy returned to his radio roots, teaming up with his partner Marc, to host a program on Washington D.C's WHUR 96.3, and H.U.R. Voices, Sirius/XM Channel 141 called The Hang Suite. He also shares the thoughts of WHUR listeners, on the top stories of the day, on Talk of The Town, a weekly segment on the 4 O'clock news on NBC 4 Washington.

He was the fill-in host of The Michael Eric Dyson Show, which aired daily on NPR stations nationwide, and recently added the title News Anchor to his resume. You can hear troy delivering the news on CBS radio’s news station in Washington DC, 99.1 WNEW.

Troy's was an original member of The Big Phat Morning Show on Radio One's 92Q, and helped make that show #1 in Baltimore. He then created, and produced The Troy Johnson Show on CBS Radio's FM Talk 105.7, a slick and innovative program that was not only funny, but also focused on educating and informing the community. By sparking dialogue and debate, The Troy Johnson Show generated a buzz with the listeners of Baltimore, and beyond.

Originally from Chicago, Troy is a broadcast veteran, with stints at premier radio stations in Indianapolis, St. Louis, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C. He has been recognized for his achievements as a broadcaster with numerous awards and honors including a Marconi Award from the St. Louis Radio Association for Best Male Talent, the 2000 Baltimore Achievement In Radio Awards for Best Morning Show and Best New Talent in Market, The Key to the City of Baltimore in 2002, The Mayor's Business Recognition Award in 2002 for outstanding work on the Baltimore Believe Campaign, and a Governor's Citation in 2006, for his contributions to Maryland.
