Troy Sousa-Semper

I graduated from Norwood High School in 2012 and am now a full-time student at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst set to graduate in 2016. I am passionate about seeking opportunities to expand my horizons and increase my knowledge on subject matters that include sports, health & fitness, and business. I hope to make an impactful difference and share my experiences with any organization that accepts me so that I can contribute to their future successes as well as mine.

I have had quite the generic, hectic schedule that befalls all college students upon their roads to success. In the few years that I have had to be "business professional" since leaving high school, I have already had many experiences that are worthwhile for my career development. I have been involved in work from running my own painting business to working at Dunkin Donuts. Both of these jobs have different aspects to a skill like customer service that I have molded into my psyche to allow me to deal with situations with just about anyone. I am not afraid to do something like going up to a door and marketing myself since I have had to do it. This, although grueling, has allowed me to become even more conversational than I was ever before and I am beginning to find my place in the world of business. As recent as October of 2014, I was accepted into a start-up company by the name of ENERGYbits' internship program.

When I am not being berated by my schoolwork and part-time job, I like to exercise above everything. I have been playing basketball since I was four years old and I would definitely call myself a student of the game. Basketball is a fascinating game and it seems to just keep making strides. The game itself continunes to grow but what is really interesting is how one grows with the game. It is a sport where there is no ceiling and one can only get better, unless they are Michael Jordan. Even then, Jordan will tell others that he was not perfect and had a lot he could have been better at. I find complete serenity in basketball whenever I am feeling too stressed or overwhelmed because I know there are many things I can work on on the court and the more things I find to improve on, the more fun I am having since I love to play and this converts to happiness. Whether it is shooting in the gym for hours by myself or running pick-up with whoever is in the gym, I am forever seeking a way to improve my game. Basketball is also great at teaching
