Tully Smith

Tully Smith is an Australian businessman who grew up in regional Victoria. He co-founded Australian market research firm Edge Insights, and it was through exploring ways to better utilize data that Tully was exposed to immersive technologies such as virtual and augmented reality. With no tech background Tully was sold on the potential of this technology from his first experience.

Tully has a management background based in communications and development. Prior to running his own company Tully worked in the not for profit, government and private sectors across Victoria, interstate and overseas.

Tully has served as a Government Advisor working in Regional and Rural Development, Agriculture, Industrial Relations and Trade. Tully has also served as Executive Officer of MicroNet, an organisation committed to fostering the development of small and micro business.

An active member of his community Tully is committed to giving back and supports many charitable and community pursuits. Tully is currently Chairman of community radio station 99.9 Voice FM, Chairman of Karden Disability Support Foundation, a Director of the Jane Austen Literacy Foundation and a memeber of the Life Education Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania Advisory Board.

Tully was a founding Director of the Children of Phoenix charity and a former Director of youth not for profit employment organisation Jobs a New Approach (JANA).

Tully’s commitment to the community has been recognised with among others a Premier of Victoria’s Award for Community Service and an Australian Prime Ministers award for Voluntary Service to the Community, Tully also serves as an Ambassador for White Ribbon Australia, Australia's campaign to end violence against women.

Tully enjoys politics, horse racing, AFL and sailing and he is a keen sporting shooter. He owns a Siberian Husky named Misha.
