My Passion // My Labor-of-Love, is teaching ProgressiveTechnology through Creativity and Innovation with thesincere hope to better prepare my students for their post-education lives. I aspire to grow in my instructionalleadership capacity by becoming a Principal.

My experience in teaching is strengthened by my ambition andfostered by a strong work ethic // positive attitude. A diverse knowledge oftechnology with a never-ending desire to learn and the understanding, care Iexpress to all students has greatly enhanced my teaching personality. Itruly believe that all students can and should succeed. It is my goal toprepare each student to enter // work within our business world with the highest potentialfor success.

I am currently a Classroom Teacher, Summer School Dean,Professional Development Leader, and Activities Advisor at Wayzata High School.To most students, I am “Mr. Shepard”, teaching a variety of IT-related coursessuch as Computer Applications, A+ Hardware and Software, and Website Design. Ihave a unique and diverse background in Information Technology and I enjoysharing my experience and understanding with students. I take my role as aneducator very seriously and believe in teaching technology through creativityand innovation. I believe that every student can and should succeed. I alsobelieve there is no “right” way to do that and I use my extensive background tocater to students of all different learning styles and backgrounds. To others inthe Wayzata School District, I am just Tyler; the go-to guy for anythingtechnology related. I am proud of the fact that I’ve developed into a trustedleader in not only the high school, but the entire district. I lead theBusiness, Marketing, Technology and the Engineering, Technology, Designdepartments through the curriculum review process. I also coordinate and managethe Wayzata High School website, lead the Business Professionals of America(BPA) chapter, and am the Chief Advisor for the Yearbook. Through Q-comp, Iteach IT-academy courses and lead IT-related study groups within the Wayzata Academyof Educators.

I have a passion for learning and even greater desire to pass my knowledge andenthusiasm to students, staff, and teachers. The faculty, staff, and studentsall know that I am there for them, each and every day.

I am currently working towards my Ed.D, K12 administrativelicensure at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities.
