Urvashi Patole | Co-Founder of The Bikerni | Marketing & Community Builder | Biker & Storyteller
I’m a biker with a passion for the road and the stories it tells. As Co-Founder of The Bikerni—India’s first all-female motorcyclist association—I helped spark our 2011 ride to Khardung La, a trip that inspired the 2023 film Dhak Dhak. Starring Ratna Pathak Shah, Dia Mirza, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Sanjana Sanghi, it follows four women biking to the highest motorable pass—now streaming on Netflix. With my partner, I run A Couple of Adventures (https://acoupleofadventuresblog.wordpress.com/), where we share our biking journeys. I’ve also served as ex-Vice President of WIMA India, supporting women in motorcycling.
Professionally, I’m a marketing and communications enthusiast, shaping riding programs, community initiatives, and brand strategies for India’s top motorcycle names—Bajaj Auto (KTM India), TVS Motors, Hero MotoCorp, Royal Enfield, and Classic Legends (Jawa & Yezdi). I’ve been part of building motorcycle communities in India from the ground up, especially for women riders, blending my love for bikes with my work. Off the saddle, I enjoy writing, photography, and a good book.
A Few Highlights:
- Helped pioneer women’s motorcycle communities in India with The Bikerni
- Female Biker of the Year (2013) – Castrol & xBhp
- Limca Record (2013) – Rode to Khardung La with 11 women
- Dirt Track Wins (2010, 2013-2016) – Pune Automotive & Royal Enfield Rider Mania
- Featured in UN Women Documentary (2017) and Nokia’s Unite For Campaign
- Test Rode for Mahindra Motorcycles (2010) – 8000 km across India
- Led Royal Enfield’s first all-women Himalayan Odyssey
I’m all about creating space for women on two wheels—through The Bikerni, the communities I’ve helped grow, and the rides I’ve been part of. It’s the journey that keeps me going.
