Dr Vigneswaran Veeramuthu is currently a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist (Adult and Pediatrics) at Thomson Hospital Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya, Selangor. He completed a Fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at Hawaii Pacific Neuroscience Institute, Hawaii, USA in 2013 and PhD in Clinical Neuropsychology (Neurosurgery) at University of Malaya in 2016/17 and a clinical observership at UCSF in 2023. He has also completed various professional training programmes and courses through the American Psychological Association’s (APA) Continuing Education programmes and US Department of Defence in relation to neuropsychological assessment, diagnosis, and neurocognitive rehabilitation.

Dr Vigneswaran specialized in diagnostic neurocognitive and neurobehavioral assessments, intraoperative (DES) and extraoperative (SEEG) brain mapping multisensory stimulation and neurocognitive rehabilitation/ interventions for acquired brain injury (trauma, stroke, AVM, aneurysms, brain surgeries), epilepsy and disorders of consciousness (permanent vegetative state, minimally conscious state, locked-In syndrome) and aging-related cognitive disorders, .

He is also one of very few clinicians in the region trained in intraoperative brain mapping, neuropsychological monitoring and advanced functional neuroimaging (Diffusion Tensor Imaging, fMRI, MR Spectroscopy). His clinical job also requires him to work with other healthcare providers including neurosurgeons, neurologists, neuroradiologists, physiatrists (rehabilitation physicians), among others to provide holistic medical and mental healthcare for patients.

Dr Vigneswaran has also been involved extensively in various research endeavours, multi-centre clinical trials, and collaborations both locally and internationally.
