VOLKER SCHMITT

... made first steps telling stories in the theatre scene in Cologne - followed by two years as an assistant director at Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg. Theatre production and adaptation of William S. Burroughs' Naked Lunch (Cut-up!). At Hamburg University he studied Anglistics and German philology focusing on literature, theatre- and film theory. Bachelor of Arts in Film Making in Berlin via Middlesex University London. His short film NOWHERENOW was screened on numerous international film festivals - and won the SAE Alumni Award in 2010 for Best Short Film. In 2011 he concluded his film studies at the University of fine Arts Hamburg. SCHATTENLINIEis his graduating film.

Volker Schmitt is based in Hamburg and currently working on his debut feature film - and on some other stuff including a new TV-Series.
