R&D focused on instrument and method development for environmental characterization using multi/hyper-spectral, multi-angle, and polarized optical measurements, including in situ and remote sensing. Experience in design and execution of field and laboratory studies, data analysis, and computer modeling. Additional research experience in signal and image processing, and intelligent algorithm design.

Improving understanding of the link between spectral optical properties and particle size

Measurement of optical scattering and polarization properties of natural waters and links to particle properties such as size, shape, and composition

Design and construction of a system for sizing particles from submicron to mesoplankton in underway flowthrough systems
