WAYNE GILL

Delray Beach, Florida

I often feel like the luckiest man alive. I've been able to accomplish anything that I set my mind to. As a young boy I dreamed of becoming a lawyer. So I put my nose to the grindstone and graduated from law school. Later, I dreamed of starting my own firm. With the loving support of my family, faith in God and in myself, I started my firm with a $250.00 retainer from my first client. Within 10 years, I had merged that firm to form one of the largest law firms in the nation, with over 500 employees and annual revenues exceeding 70 million dollars.

Even with great success in the legal field, I felt that I was called to a higher purpose. I dreamed again of reaching the world with God's message of love and reconciliation. I became ordained as a minister and served as a Lay Pastor for 4 years in a small mission church, ministering primarily to a beautiful group of young people. My wife and I also answered the call to create the Oasis Compassion Agency, a non-profit organization that serves the disadvantaged and those who are hurting the most in our community. In so doing, we've been blessed to see thousands of families helped and hope restored to their lives.

I dreamed of writing books to encourage small and minority business owners I had met along my corporate path, and so I wrote "This Business of Supplier Diversity" a guidebook for small and minority businesses seeking to do business with corporate America. I also dreamed of writing books to encourage young people and others on their spiritual path and so I wrote "The Runner" a book about a man's struggle to find his place and purpose in life.

And I am still dreaming. I'm still looking for every opportunity to encourage, inspire and to lift each and every person that I meet. I learned a long time ago that life is not about what you take from it, but what you give back. My goal is that when I depart this earth, my epitaph will read: "There lies Wayne Gill - He gave his all, and it made a difference." And to hear the Lord say, "Well done my good and faithful servant."
