Wendy is an attorney based in Chicago, Illinois. For well over a decade, Wendy has been involved in all aspects of consumer and commercial bankruptcy cases. Prior to practicing law at the law firm of Freeborn & Peters LLP (Chicago), Wendy spent several years as a judicial law clerk for bankruptcy judges in the Third and Seventh Circuits. As a law clerk, Wendy assisted federal judges with determining issues related to bankruptcy court jurisdiction, debtor-in-possession financing arrangements, asset sales, claims litigation, assumption and rejection of lease agreements, confirmation of plans of reorganization, avoidance action litigation along with issues related to the interpretation of confirmed plans of reorganization. These issues involved debtors from the automobile, retail, telecommunication, manufacturing, real estate development, mining, construction, broadcasting, investment services, trucking, gas utilities, education, cable television, radio broadcasting, religious, cemetery, dairy, transportation and restaurant industries.

In 2011 and 2012, Wendy was selected for inclusion in Illinois Super Lawyers – Rising Stars for by Super Lawyers (Thompson Reuter) in the area of Bankruptcy and Debtor/Creditor law. Rising Stars are lawyers under the age of 40 who have been in practice for 10 years or less.
