A Diplomate of the American Board of Professional Psychology, Wilfred van Gorp, PhD, directs the Center for Cognitive Assessment, a psychiatric testing and treatment facility with offices in Chicago and New York City. The Center offers a variety of evaluative and rehabilitative services such as pediatric neuropsychiatry and cognitive remediation. Dr. Wilfred van Gorp began laying the foundations for his career as a neuropsychologist at the University of Louisville, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He continued on at the University of Louisville to earn his MA and PhD in Clinical Psychology. Dr. van Gorp later completed an internship with the West Los Angeles Veterans Administration Medical Center before accepting a postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology with the Department of Psychiatry at the University of California, Los Angeles.

An active contributor to his field, Dr. Wilfred van Gorp has written a large selection of research papers and other articles appearing in various peer-reviewed journals such as Developmental Neuropsychology, the Journal of Clinical and Experimental Neuropsychology, the American Journal of Psychiatry, and the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society.
