William Barzee

Attorney William Barzee began his education at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. While studying, he also participated in several extracurricular activities. In addition to serving as the President of the student government, William Barzee served as a Student Representative to the University’s Board of Trustees and a member of the Honor Council, Appeals Committee, and Iron Arrow Society. After several years, he returned to attend the University of Miami School of Law for his Juris Doctor. William Barzee participated in activities outside of class. Displaying his writing abilities, he contributed to the University of Miami Law Review, received a nomination for a Law Review Book Award, and won the American Jurisprudence Book Award, Property Law. William Barzee also spent time as a Honor Council Student Advocate, Finals Review Student Lecturer, and participated on the national mock trial team. In his first position following law school, William Barzee worked as a Special Assistant Public Defender in the Law Offices of the Public Defender for Miami-Dade County. Representing criminal defendants who lacked financial means throughout the Greater Miami area, he participated in over 100 trials through verdict and tutored new attorneys in litigation and trial theory. Accepting a position as an Assistant Federal Public Defender after three years, he assumed higher profile cases, including federal appeals, parole violations, and treaty transfers. William Barzee operated in this position for nearly five years before opening his own law practice. Working as a solo practitioner for a year and a half, William Barzee performed federal and state, civil and criminal defense before becoming a Partner at Barzee Flores. Handling criminal cases in state and federal courts, Barzee Flores works closely with clients throughout the process. As a Managing Partner at Barzee Flores, he oversees firm management. William Barzee is a member of the U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit Bar; U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida Bar; U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida Bar; The Florida Bar; and the Dade County Bar Association.
