William Walter Smithers

A dedicated college student, William Walter Smithers is enrolled at Santa Clara University in California, where he plans to graduate with his bachelor of science in civil engineering by June of 2016. His present course work involves topics ranging from civil engineering and its computer applications to thermodynamics. William Walter Smithers previously attended Bucknell University, where he maintained a strong GPA and completed a diversity of civil engineering courses. During his time at Bucknell, was also a member of the ski team.

When not studying, William Smithers pursues international travel, having visited Central American nations such as Guatemala and Nicaragua. While in the latter country, he assisted Developing Communities, Inc., an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for Nicaraguan people. He also enjoys playing the drums, a hobby that he began at a young age.

Also active in his broader community, he belongs to the American Society of Civil Engineers and competes on the Santa Clara University rugby team.
