Andreas Wirwalski (born 1966) is a German free-lanced journalist and author based in Munich. After an editorial department traineeship and a couple of years as print and online editor for a regional newspaper in Northwestern Germany, he moved southwards to Munich in December 2000, running the "Cinema national" department for trade paper "Blickpunkt:Film".

Since 2005, he has been working free-lanced a.o. for "Filmecho/Filmwoche", Goethe-Institut (goethe.de), Bavaria Film International, supporting also the marketing department of ARRI Group and other film companies. He also joined in 2009 Stuttgart's Festival of Animated Film as PR attaché.

From summer 2006 to October 2008, he launched and operated his own weekly podcast named "Filmnews" covering news and interviews about cinema and film industry.

His favorite topics are digital cinema, interaction between market and audience, connections between content and commerce, film history and social media. He is also interested in culture and politics concerning the Middle East.
