William Michael Cunningham is an economist and impact investment creator. He is on the faculty at Georgetown University, and is currently working on an investment vehicle that deals with homelessness and another that deals with HIV/AIDS. Mr. Cunningham is the author of one of the first books on the JOBS Act and Crowdfunding, published by Apress. He has launched several innovative web-based services, including technology that allowed medical marijuana dispensaries to use bitcoin as a payment mechanism, one of the first websites targeting women and minority entrepreneurs, several ESG, CSR and impact investing websites, and the first diversity investing vehicle. Starting in 2003, he warned the SEC about the 2008 financial crisis and, in June, 2016, his economic forecasting model predicted the election of Donald Trump.
