I'm a CTO and software engineer, currently developing solutions and services for agentic software development.

Recently, I was Chief Product & Tech Officer (CPTO) at Akiba, a South African startup providing risk-decisioning and identification verification in order to expand financial access. Before that, I incubated a payment-assurance startup that never took flight, and a public-interest startup focused on information quality.

Formerly, I worked at the Digital practice of a big, fancy-pants management-consulting firm. We built apps used by millions of people, and also helped organizations transform their team, culture, tools & practices for the digital era.

I was also CTO at Generation, a global non-profit organization (NGO) working to create employment opportunities for young people, and for those displaced by economic change.

As a hands-on engineer, I specialize in web/mobile product development on the cloud using open-source tech. I have a long-term spike in React-Native, and deployed (what we believe was) the first multi-million-user application on React-Native-Web.

I dabble in writing, and teaching other people how to do what I do, only better. I speak at some tech conferences.

I hail originally from Hilton, NY, and have also lived in Manhattan, Washington DC, Bangkok, Yerevan, Baghdad, Kuala Lumpur, and Geneva. Via consulting, I had the pleasure of extended stays in Singapore, Sydney, Jakarta and Mexico City. (Yes, I move around a lot. No, I'm not a spy. ;-) I also travel often for the pleasure of it.

I speak bits of a few languages semi-fluently (Thai, Armenian, Spanish), but my best language other than English is French, owing to my time in Geneva.

For fun, I mountain bike, snowboard, ski tour, run, cycle, and spin. I play some Go. I love to read Speculative/Science-Fiction.
