Zoe Stewart-Marshall

LITA President 2012-2013

One of LITA's greatest strengths has been its role in providing both structured and unstructured opportunities for networking and community building for both technologists who work in libraries and librarians who work with technology. With both LITA and ALA facing challenges and difficult choices, it is important that we provide an open environment within LITA that continues to support member engagement through a variety of channels. As we look at ways to grow the membership, we need to reach out to our current membership to help communicate their positive experiences with LITA and benefits from membership. In an environment of constrained resources we need, as an organization, to continue to investigate how to apply the principles of agility and flexibility, that led to the development of Interest Groups, within an increasingly virtual community.
