A strong desire to educate and inspire at-risk urban youth led me to the Boston Public Schools where I have taught high school mathematics since 2006.

I founded the district's first Mu Alpha Theta mathematics honor society. Our mission was to recognize outstanding student achievement and provide deserving students with unique academic and enrichment opportunities. After all-expense paid field trips to Washington D.C. and Chicago, membership increased from 11 students in its first year of existence to 37 in its third, nearly 10% of the student body.

I have also served as a Teach Plus Teaching Policy Fellow where I worked with other Greater Boston teachers to impact policies that we believe will benefit our students and the profession.
