Adonis Hoffman, Esq. is chairman of Business in the Public Interest, and former Adjunct Professor of Communication, Culture & Technology at Georgetown University. He is co-chairman of the External Advisory Council of Nielsen Media; a member of the Board of The Media Institute, and editor and publisher of Inside the FCC. He provides strategic advisory counsel to organizations and investors on compliance, risk, M&A and reputation management, as well as regulatory and public policy developments.

Hoffman is a lawyer, business advisor and recognized expert on media, communications, advertising and public policy, with over 30 years of high-level legal, government, and international experience. He has worked with CEOs, corporate boards, U.S. policymakers, foreign leaders, trade associations, institutional investors, and international organizations on a range of global and domestic issues. He is a leading voice on media and communications law and policy, especially FCC and FTC regulations, providing commentary and insights to policymakers, the news media, and investors.

Hoffman served in the U.S. House of Representatives as a chief of staff, legislative director and senior counsel to a Congressional Committee. He served at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) as chief of staff and senior legal advisor to an FCC Chairman and Commissioner. Previously, Hoffman worked as senior vice president and counsel at the American Association of Advertising Agencies.

Before moving into the media sector, Hoffman enjoyed a distinguished career in foreign policy and international trade, traveling to forty countries and advising developing nations on constitutional and electoral reform. Following his work on Capitol Hill with the House Foreign Affairs Committee, he was appointed senior associate at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, and later worked as managing director at Capitol Exchange Corporation.

Hoffman is admitted to practice law at the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, the U.S. Court of International Trade, and the United States Supreme Court.
