Ashli proudly serves as the National Recruitment Manager at City Year. In this capacity, she responsible for creating a pipeline of upwards 200 qualified 17-24 year olds, manage, grow, and develop partnerships, and drive continual improvement of engagement strategies through data analysis. Ashli has been recently elected to sit on the Advisory Board for Community Harvest Foundation, to assist with building corporate, individual, & family foundation partnerships, and develop college-bound activities.

Her professional career began in education and she quickly realized there was a lack of role models of like interest in under resourced communities. Studies have shown that interaction between children and role models of like interest increase academic performance and self-esteem. Ashli challenged that theory by designing various programs to bring educators, philanthropists, entrepreneurs, professional/colligate athletes, college students, and corporate business experts into high needs public schools in Los Angeles county. With the help of faculty, administrators & parent organizations, Project REACH (Washington Preparatory), Connections (Venice High School), and The Pipeline Project (City Year LA) were created.

Ashli founded Ujamaa Productions, a social and economic cooperative. Since its inception in 2009, Ashli has produced and directed two online web shows; WhatzLive and He Say, She Say. WhatzLive’s primary goal is helping entrepreneurs build their brand, expand their market, and maximize capital. He Say, She Say asks controversial questions about relationships, politics, and religion – primarily to generate meaningful conversations.

Ashli's professional interests include career advisement/professional development, diversity & inclusion, external affairs, and corporate philanthropy. Ashli aspires to the lead design and implementation of community engagement and employee retention initiatives for a Fortune 100 company -or- work in Student Services implementing career preparedness/readiness, corporate relations, and alumni campaigns.
