Dan Evans' distinguished career in all aspects of baseball enables him to give experienced, solid advice and render an opinion as an authority on the game he loves.
A former Los Angeles Dodgers General Manager, Evans has been involved in decision-making roles with five MLB franchises spanning more than four decades. During his Chicago White Sox tenure, he was involved in the draft of Hall of Famer Frank Thomas and All-Star Mark Buehrle and the acquisition of Hall of Famer Tom Seaver, All-Stars Paul Konerko and Ozzie Guillen.
Evans’ winning percentage was the second-best mark for any GM in Los Angeles Dodgers history at the time of his departure. During his tenure, he oversaw two of the most productive consecutive drafts in MLB history, including the selections of All-Stars Russell Martin and Matt Kemp, among others.
Evans led the transformation of a Dodger franchise with an overall rating of 28th among MLB clubs by rebuilding the organization’s scouting and player developments to secure the #1 spot just two years later. He was the architect of the Dodgers' 1st playoff club in over a dozen years and built the National League's best bullpen staff since World War II. While Dodgers' GM, Evans promoted the first Chinese Taipei native (Chin-Feng Chen) to the Major Leagues and was directly involved with three of the first four Chinese Taipei native players in Major League history.
A pioneer in using technology and computers in baseball analysis, Evans previously scouted for the Toronto Blue Jays, evaluating talent throughout the game at all levels, and oversaw Pacific Rim operations.
In addition, Evans mentors a Sports Management Worldwide (SMWW) class named "The Baseball General Manager and Scouting," an online course offering cutting-edge theories on developing a baseball career.
Evans was the Chief Operating Officer of Go The Distance LLC, which owns The Field of Dreams Movie Site. Evans was responsible for the overall strategy and their quest to bring an unparalleled youth baseball and softball complex to the iconic venue.
