I'm a Lecturer in British Politics at the University of Liverpool. My focus is on Liverpool's politics and political history - my doctoral thesis examines Conservative decline in Liverpool - as well as British politics more broadly, party politics, and identity and voting behaviour, with a focus on quantitative methods.

I'm currently also publicity officer for the Political Studies Association Conservative and Conservatism Specialist Group.

Outside of academia, I usually have a race or triathlon lined up, mainly as a ploy to counter my addiction to the Pizza Hut buffet, and can sometimes be found in the gym or on stage.I enjoy reliving my youth through old PS1 games whenever I get the chance.

You can visit my Google Scholar or Academia.edu pages for a taste of my work. I'm also on Twitter and have a (poorly-maintained) blog. I'm also happy to take media requests - although I'd draw the line at Love Island 🏝
