The Battle of Jutland - where my Grandfather, Admiral Sir John Jellicoe, commanded the British Grand Fleet - is my passion.

I finished writing Jutland. The Unfinished Battle ready for 2016. It explores the context of the battle and its impact. Jutland1916.com, which has a wealth of supporting materials, can be useful to those wishing to explore deeper.

In June 2019, The Last Days of the High Seas Fleet was published. It's the story of the scuttling of the German Fleet in Scapa Flow in 1919. In 2022 I added a third title, George Jellicoe, SAS and SBS Commander, the story of my father's role in the early SAS in North Africa as David Stirling's 2iC and later his role as commander of the SBS in the Aegean.

I am married to a Peruvian, naturalised American, Patricia, and have two wonderful daughters, Zoë and Francesca. Zoë's an accomplished editor while Francesca, who studied classical chinese and Asian & Middle Eastern Art and Archeology in China and London, is now working in permaculture and reforestation.

I wanted to be a photo-journalist but was lured to New York to work in advertising instead. I've worked with some great companies - Rolex, Bvlgari and American Express - to name a few. I grew up in the UK and studied politics at York University and at Science Po, the "Institut des Études Politiques" in Paris. My continued study of (very rudimentary, unfortunately, HSK 2) Chinese reflects my college and family interests in China.
