Harry McCann

I am a passionate, confident and determined individual who has demonstrated entrepreneurial prowess, strong communication skills and initiative from an early age.

At the age of 15 during my Junior Certificate I set up my first business 'Kid Tech". I set up Kid Tech with the aim to "Teach the next generation Tech". I done so by writing unique courses to teach kids everything from coding to graphic design. In less than 18 months I managed to teach over 1,000 kids to code. I received the support of entrepreneur, Norah Casey, Blackberry, Viddyad, and British Actor, Stephen Fry.

In June of 2014 after the Excited festival in Dublin Castle I decided that young people didn't have a voice in STEM in Ireland, and this simply wasn't good enough, so I set up the first Digital Youth Council in World. I set up the Digital Youth Council along with the help of the Director of the Galway Education Centre, Bernard Kirk, and former Minister for Skills and Learning, Ciaran Cannon. Since June 2014 I have managed the whole of the Digital Youth Council including the 23 members & our partner list which includes names such as Twitter, RTE, Accenture and Storyful.

Over the past two years both I received a number of awards/honours including 'Young Entrepreneur of the Month' (Huffington Post), 20 Under 20 Ireland’s brightest and most inspirational rising stars' (TheJournal.ie) & more.I have featured in Irish Tech News, Digital Times, Youth Media Team, Irish Times, Irish Sun, Irish Examiner, Today FM, KFM, Siliconrepublic, The Digital Hub, Kidscreen, Kildare Post, Leinster Leader, NACD, Journal.ie, TechCentral & The Huffington Post. I have also appeared on the Tv programs RTE Morning Edition, 3e FYI, TwoTube and & more.

I have spoken and given several Keynotes at many events, including Smart Business Show, RTE Mobile Monday , Excited 2014 & 2015 , The Young creators Celebration in the NACD & more. I have also appeared in a promotion videos for the new venture between Vodafone & ESB, SIRO.
