Joshua Cousin

New Orleans, Louisiana

My name is Joshua Cousin, most people refer to me by my alias "Book" and/or "Bookman" . I'm Known for my presence on the web. As as administrator of popular marching band websites Bandhead.org & HBCUbands.com. I spend lots of time covering events to capture video HBCU and high school bands abroad.

Partially due to my Blog "Note from the Book " I've been credited in films, Books, had my photo's used in magazines and other websites. traveled across the states because of it. those opportunities I am grateful. otherwise, I don't take myself that seriously because I'm not that great at what I can do. I just do it.

In the year following Katrina, I was hired to assist with hurricane relief. I spend most of that time managing a community development corporation's technology department on behalf of a company called "Tech For All - Houston" they hired me using a Microsoft grant to promote their "Community 2.0 project.

In 2006 with the same organization, I became an AmeriCorps+VISTA Volunteer, although It was for a short term I am proud of it. I haven't really done much beyond volunteering my time since then. I enjoy helping people and being Involved for the most part.

I am also the Vice President of a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit organization called "New Orleans Legacy Association of Bands, Inc" We are a group of New Orleans band alumni with a mission to revitalize, cultivate & preserve the culture of our cities band community
