L. Tomay Douglas is a daughter, mom, sister, grandmother, wife and survivor who overcame the impact of abusive experiences and is committed to transforming trauma and helping persons to honor the power of their voice.

L. Tomay Douglas is a Restorative Justice Equity Educator, Social Worker, a Racial Justice Advocate, Substance Abuse Counselor, Consultant, and Christian Abundant Life Coach. Her work centers on healing, equity, and justice through education. Tomay is a facilitator with Restorative Justice Education (RJ Ed) and is a Restorative Roots Collaborative member facilitating Participatory Action Research.

Tomay is the co-founder of Worth Justice Inc, a nonprofit to affirm worth, change lives, the founder of Brand Me Beautiful working with professional men and women of faith impacted by trauma and Responding Restoratively, to assist with Critical Conversations to Build Community, Deepen Relationships, Heal Conflict & Return to Love. She is an International Speaker where she presented in Haiti, led roundtable discussions with NGOs addressing violence against women, and facilitated restorative circles with adolescents impacted by HIV in Romania.

Tomay is a PhD student at the University of San Diego and a resident Restorative Justice practitioner, the project leader of HEAL Humanity Now!- an equity and racial justice initiative, facilitator on the RJ Certificate training team, and graduate assistant at the Center for Restorative Justice at USD.

Tomay’s experience includes Higher Ed, K-12, families, community, and religious organizations. Tomay integrates her mediation, mindfulness, equity/racial literacy, and trauma training into her work. She provides conflict coaching, conferencing, anti-racism, and healing circles for persons who experienced harm, trauma, and persons seeking to repair harm.

She was interviewed by WPIX Channel 11 news on the transformative power of Restorative practices for sexual assault survivors, cited in the media on how President Biden can change Title IX to protect sexual assault survivors, co-hosts the Restorative Lens podcast at the National Center on Restorative Justice, and did a TEDx Talk titled JustRiot, a Restorative pathway to heal. Her commitment to social and transformative justice deepens her practice and restorative lifestyle. Her guiding principles are love, liberation, truth, justice, healing, and being the mom of two college graduates.
