Recognized by Profit Magazine's FuEL Awards: Top 20 Entrepreneurs Under 30 in Canada. When Rattan Bagga refers to himself as a "wholesome entrepreneur," he isn't referring only to the organic granola and gluten-free treats that New World Natural manufactures. Rattan Bagga has been the CEO of New World Natural Foods, a Canadian organic foods manufacturer, since 2010. Mr. Bagga is also recognized as one of the top 20 under 30 entrepreneurs in Canada in 2011/2012. He first joined the family owned & operated company in 2007, looking after the strategic direction and marketing of the business to health conscious consumers in British Columbia and the rest of Canada in general. In addition, his belief in 'maximizing the benefits of his decisions on those around him,' also translated into raising funds for charitable initiatives such as the disaster relief in Pakistan and Haiti, as well as sourcing ingredients from local sources (e.g. Canadian farmers) as much as possible. New World Natural Foods is based in Burnaby, B.C. As part of his passion for entrepreneurship and belief in corporate social responsibility, Mr. Bagga is also the co-chair of the young entrepreneurs program run by the Vancouver chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE). The program teaches youths about the basics of business management in areas such as finance, marketing and business planning. Mr. Bagga graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Adminstration from Capilano College in 2007. What is the most valuable lesson you've learned as an entrepreneur? I have learned that it is important to remain adaptable and ready for any challenge by being highly organized and efficient with my time. Managing these components and ensuring you surround yourself with an amazing team is a fine art, especially for the first five years of business when, let's face it, you become physically and emotionally committed to your business 24/7.
