Stella Marega

Trieste, Italy

European researcher in the fields of Political Philosophy, Philosophy of Social Sciences and Symbolic Communication.

My job is a passion ever since I can remember. I have always been attracted by different cultures, religions, symbols, art, imagination, utopias, and the ways in which mankind has looked to the future and pursued the search for salvation.

My research activity actually focuses on the relationship among philosophy, religion and politics, with special attention to the processes of secularization and re-divinization of politics and to the eschatological tension in modern ideological movements.

I extensively investigated the meaning of apocalyptic symbol, disseminating the results in academic publications, lessons and international conferences in United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Hungary and South Africa.

I also deal with problems of symbolic interpretations of political power and corporeality in post-modern imagery and in popular culture. Currently I am editing a collective volume on apocalyptic imagination in the movies.

Moreover, I'm a trainee photographer, a cyberpunk nostalgic, a Japan lover, a modern-art enthusiast, an architecture passionate, an unwearied wanderer and a stubborn rebel.

My hope is to live enough to see humans on Mars, or, alternatively, martians on Earth.
