A.E. Albert

My name is A.E. Albert (Aimee). I'm a Child and Youth Worker by profession and an aspiring author in heart. I love what I do, but I believe in following the path of higher purpose. So, here I am putting myself out into the World Wide Web, ready to embrace the positive and negative consequences and hopefully learn from both.

I have many passions in life. Believe it or not, I didn't discover writing until late in life. Of course, I'm an avid reader. I also love traveling; I've been half way around the world. I also adore history and science, just to name a few.

You may think it's interesting that all of these elements happen to be in my book. Well, before I began hammering on a keyboard, I went through the first phase of deciding what to write. This was actually one of the most difficult stages. Yet, once the plot and characters took form in my mind’s eye, the story took on a life of its own. It was as though the only control I had was placing my fingers on the keyboard. Of course, this has everything to do with taking knowledge and experience you already have and putting it on paper.

I adore the story of Anne of Green Gables. During this time of serious pondering, I suddenly remembered Gilbert's advice to Anne...Write what you know. So I took what I knew and The Time Sphere was born.

But then I thought, why stop there? The truth was, there was no greater quantity of knowledge I gained then from my job working with children. That was when Billy was born and the true purpose to my story revealed itself. You know something? I believe our stories are revealed to us. It is though they have a life of their own.

For ten years, I worked as a Child & Youth Worker in residential group homes. I've worked and cared for many children like the ones described in my book and I've always felt that these children have been misunderstood. So, through humor and the occasional tear, I attempted to inform the reader what it is really like for the children of social services. I took my work experience, natural creative talent and love of adventure and history to produce this work.

The Time Sphere is an action/adventure story for the child in all of us. It is an emotional journey for anyone who has ever felt all alone in the world and knows the power of hope. Join Billy on his voyage through time and space and the path to self discovery.
