NTRODUCTION OF UBA GHANA INCUMBENT MANAGING DIRECTOR: MRS. ABIOLA BAWUAH
UBA Ghana’s new Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer Mrs. Abiola Bawuah began her new role with great zeal and promise from January 1, 2014.
Mrs. Bawuah joined UBA Ghana on March 1, 2013 as the Deputy Managing Director and has already contributed immensely to the performance of the Bank. Abiola Bawuah, being UBA Ghana’s first Ghanaian, as well as, first female MD/CEO, brings a wealth of local flair, finesse and know how, coupled with her enormous banking experience.
Before her appointment with UBA, Mrs. Bawuah was an Executive Director at Zenith Bank. She previously held the positions of General Manager Marketing and Group Head Retail Banking. Before joining Zenith Bank she worked at Standard Chartered Bank as a Business Financial Manager; Cal Bank as a Senior Financial Analyst and at Strategic African Securities as an Authorized Dealing Officer/ Broker. Mrs. Bawuah holds a BSc in Actuarial Science, an LLB, an EMBA (Finance) from University of Ghana, as well as numerous leadership qualifications from HarvardBusinessSchool,Columbia, INSEAD and Institut Villa Pierrefeu in Switzerland. UBA Ghana has gained a consummate banker and a key asset.
We believe that with the experience she has garnered through her illustrious banking career, she would take UBA Ghana to higher levels.
As she commences her tenure as the MD/CEO she has 3 main goals for the Bank;
1. Taking UBA Ghana to new heights
2. Exceeding customer’s expectations – with improved service delivery
3. Greater focus on UBA’s Core values - (H.E.I.R – Humility, Empathy, Integrity and Resilience)
