Taiwo is a young, dynamic and creative development worker from Nigeria. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from the University of Ado Ekiti (now Ekiti State University, Nigeria) and has attended advanced training on Development Evaluation in Nigeria, Ghana, Finland and the UK. In his five years' experience in the non-profit sector, Taiwo has helped in the implementation of donor-funded projects. He worked as the Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting Officer for Girls To Women Research & Development Centre in partnership with Global HELP Trust Foundation on the implementation of the Rapid and Effective Action Combating HIV/AIDS (REACH) project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through Pact Nigeria. This project reached over 1,200 youths and women with HIV prevention information in Gaga community of Ondo State, Nigeria. From 2009-2010, he successfully trained and mentored 52 Adolescent Peer Educators on HIV prevention and life skills in Yobe state Nigeria and established HIV prevention club in Government Secondary School, Goniri, Yobe State. As a volunteer of Kids & Teens Resource Centre, Nigeria, Taiwo provided legal support for about 32 Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC)in Ekiti State and assisted them to obtain birth registration in 2010. This young researcher has presented papers on evaluation at international conferences in the UK, Cameroon and Finland. In 2012, he was invited to the Technical Working Group on “Young People’s Health & Development” (YPHD) in Ondo State, Nigeria. Currently, Taiwo does significant advocacy and creates massive awareness on cervical cancer in Nigeria. He is also the convenor of the GYCC quarterly tweet chat/facebook chat on cervical cancer. He uses this chat to create global awareness on cervical cancer, facilitate discussions about best practices on its prevention and invites youth activists from different countries as guests on the platform; this chat attracts participants, including global organizations from different continents. Due to his contributions to addressing gender issues and the improvement of Maternal & Child Health (MCH) in Nigeria, Taiwo was invited to attend the Women Deliver Global Conference 2013 in Malaysia where he mobilized youths from different countries of the world to start the Global Youth Coalition Against Cancer (GYCC), which is now an affiliate of the Global Initiative for cancer Registry Development in Low- and Middle-Inc
