adrienne shum

At the age of eleven, Adrienne was first introduced to yoga through a library video. The practice resonated with her and, from this early start, she has since dedicated herself to a daily practice grounded in humility, gratitude and equanimity.

She went on to complete Moksha (2009) and Ashtanga (2011) yoga teacher trainings. Stepping into the role of teacher, Adrienne has had the opportunity to share yoga and encourage students to cultivate a sincere and devoted practice, both on and off the mat. More recently, with her partner David Quiring, she leads Kirtan: a call-and-response chanting practice rooted in Bhakti (devotional) yoga. Check out their live Kirtan album here.

Adrienne has also went on to study the sister science of yoga: Ayurveda. With both a certification as an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Counsellor and a Master’s degree in Food Science, she integrates the healing traditions of Ayurveda with contemporary science in offering private consultations and workshops.
