Allison Felus
Writer, Musician, and Editor in Chicago, Illinois
I've worked in the publishing industry for more than 20 years and have edited and prepared for print hundreds of books in a variety of genres. I’m currently available for consultations and freelance editorial work. I particularly love helping self-published authors get their projects out into the world.
I sing and play keyboards in The Felus Cremins Band. Our latest EP is called Nice Boys.
You can read a bunch of my writing, catch up on episodes of my podcast, or stream 20 years’ worth of curated mixes at my blog, Queen of Peaches.
Allison got me into the business of writing and publishing! As a new author, I was totally unaware of all that it was involved writing and getting a book published. Hiring her was the best decision I could have ever made. She not only did a fabulous job in editing my two adult books, but she also provided me with so much insight on the publishing profession.

Allison edited my book in the fall of 2022, and she became a partner in wanting to make my novel the best that it could be....she was there every step of the way, guiding me, offering helpful instructions in the process, making it all as painless and stress-free as possible. I couldn’t have done it without her (nor would I have wanted to). She is a rock star in her profession.

Allison is a magical wizard with words and a kind, compassionate human being whose professionalism is unparalleled. Sound out of this world? Well, Allison has shown me that she truly is. As a yoga teacher, I have sent out many email newsletters and published blogs that have required expert editing, sometimes at the last minute....Allison makes me proud of my work and I don’t know what I’d do without her.
