Hello, my name is Ajanae McGehee. I am currently a junior at Martin Luther King Jr. Senior High School. Since my freshman year in high school I have grown to found that I have an interest in mathematics and science, human anatomy science and biochemistry science to be specific. The concept of mathematics and science helps me mentally to exercise my brain while expanding it to grow, which is pretty unique in a way, because I can actually find a career for doing what I love. But that's not necessarily why I would like to pursue an career in the science or mathematics world.
After graduating high school, I plan to attend an historical black college such as Howard University in Washington D.C, later on I would eventually attend medical school, residency and the other sources that are required for me to become an neonatologist pediatrician. Neonatology is a subspecialty of pediatrics that consists of the medical care of newborn infants, especially the ill or premature newborn infant. It is a hospital-based specialty, and is usually practiced in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). Neonatologist also diagnose and treat newborns with conditions such as breathing disorders, infections, and birth defects. Coordinate care and medically manage newborns born premature, critically ill, or in need of surgery.Further down the road in my future career, I plan to open my own private doctors office, where I would have OB/GYNs, pediatricians, and of course other neonatologist pediatricians. So it is fair to say, that it could be a private doctor's office for women and children.
Becoming a doctor had somewhat been my dream job since I was younger. When I was a younger my mother worked as an Phlebotomist at a local hospital, every time she would come home I would be hypnotized about the stories she told me and the uniform she wore. So my mother pretty much inspired me to go into the medical field. Aside from that, I also was the oldest, so I enjoyed helping my parents out with my younger siblings, as well as helping other relatives.
In contrast, if you would like to explore my journey of reaching my short and long term goals, or just want to know more about me you can easily follow my social media accounts.
