Alex Reis

I'm a freelance science writer, with a particular expertise in the field of biology and genetics. In a ‘previous life’ as a researcher, I worked in the field of cell and molecular biosciences and published various scientific manuscripts in high impact factor journals, including Nature Cell Biology.

Nowadays, however, I much rather spend my time reading and writing science articles for several news outlets. Recent work includes articles published in Science NOW, Decoded Science and Lab Times, among others.

After moving around the UK for a while, I now live in the Highlands of Scotland. When not working, I can be found trying to get friendly with the ‘locals’, from deer to seals, otters or even sea eagles.
