Architect in California
Born in New Zealand, Alexander currently lives in the San Francisco Bay area. He graduated from the University of Arizona with a BS in Management Information Systems (MIS) with a focus on International Business. Alexander has worked for several leading financial, energy, entertainment, and technology companies including: JPMorgan Chase, Hambrecht and Quist, Bank of New Zealand, Mighty River Power, SHI, CompuCom Systems, Industrial Light and Magic and IBM.
Currently Alexander is Director at VMware responsible for Infrastructure and Cloud Operations Architecture.
Prior to VMware he served as the Director of Professional Services for an IBM Business Partner specializing in business continuance, data center architecture and design, and storage optimization.
His background also includes serving as an Enterprise Architect working for Bank of New Zealand and Mighty River Power one of New Zealand's leading power companies and Vice President of Technology for the Asset Management business at JPMorgan Chase.
At JPMorgan his focus was serving as a co-chair for the Architecture Standards group and the development and implementation of an enterprise architecture organization. Over the years at the bank he also served as a technology business operations manager, global client services manager, problem and change manager, project manager, and business analyst.
In his personal time Alexander is a passionate entrepreneur, sailor and mountain biker and serves as Vice President of the non-profit NorCal High School Cycling League. When not in the office you can find him with his family, on the water or on his bicycle.
