Alex Beck

I am a professional British photographer (LRPS), born in Hamburg Germany and based in Switzerland. I was introduced to photography by my grandfather aged seven, when I was given my very first camera; a Kodak Instamatic Pocket 100. Curious by nature, I have taken pictures ever since.

Having successfully studied photography, photo-media, printing and the history of photography at Wiltshire Art School and holding a degree with honours from the Humanities Department at King's College London, University of London, I love the diversity traditional non-digital photography offers the artist. Over the past six years I have partially moved to the world of digital photography. Being a purist, I prefer using available natural light and traditional techniques, such as print toning. I, furthermore, never crop images.

Today I am proud to be able to offer a wide range of professional services to my international clients. I have continuously expanded my professional portfolio to include a variety of contemporary commissions featuring reportage, portraits, fine art boudoir, landscapes, architecture, inanimate objects, abstracts, corporate and street photography.

I use a variety of cameras:

Canon 5D Mk II

Leica M9-P

Leica M6J

Leica S2

Pentax ME Super

Rolleiflex 2.8F TLR

Minolta Dynax 7000
