Scientist and Philanthropy Professional in New York
Dr Alison Rausch is a strong believer in the power of education to positively transform lives. A scientist by training, Alison Rausch is currently Director of Major Gifts for the University of Oxford in North America. In this role, she works with a dedicated and talented team to secure large gifts from donors in the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean to support academic programs, scholarship funding, and capital projects. Since taking up her post in 2010, Alison Rausch has engaged some of the world's largest multinational corporations, foundations, and altruistic individuals to deliver transformative philanthropic gifts to the university.
Alison Rausch earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Cardiff and a Master’s degree from the University of Leeds before going on to complete her doctorate at the University of Oxford; her thesis focused on climate modeling and isotope analysis techniques.
In addition to her professional activities, Alison Rausch is mother to an energetic toddler and is an avid runner. She is also active in her local community and volunteers her time with homeless and educational charities. Also interested in home renovation, she has restored several properties over the years, including a 1920's home in Virginia.
